After many years of assisting others in need, Mrs Falkenstein, an ex-nurse, decided to put her own health and safety first and invested in a brand new accessible bathroom from AHM Installations.
Mrs. Falkenstein (81) was having trouble getting in and out of the shower due to the standard high step found in most showers. After years of struggling with this problem, she contacted our wonderful team and decided on a brand new bathroom renovation.
“Getting out of the shower was becoming a problem. I’m fairly recently widowed, so for my own sake I needed to get it sorted out.”
Mrs. Falkenstein discovered our advertisement in a local magazine with the help of her sister and decided to learn more about our products by visiting our website. After learning more about us, they were both very pleased with the products and services we offer!
“I saw a couple of other companies, but I’d already half made up my mind that I would use AHM… When Paul, the designer, came to see me he was very nice. He planned the bathroom to be just right for me. Then Scott, the surveyor, came to measure up and said everything Paul suggested was spot on.”
Our talented designer Paul took Mrs. Falkenstein’s ideas and turned them into a beautiful, stylish bathroom that is much more accessible and easy to use while still incorporating all of Mrs. Falkenstein’s ideas and extras.
In the design, wall panels were used instead of tiles. This is due to the fact that they are much easier to clean and maintain, as well as having a much more modern and contemporary look.
“I’m absolutely thrilled with my bathroom. It’s safer to use and the walls are much easier to clean. I just wipe them down.”
Because of some of the design elements used in this bathroom, it is much easier to enter and exit all of the facilities without tripping or falling. One side of the shower was left open in case anyone needed assistance.
“The shower is open at one end so my sister can help me if I need it. I also had the sink moved and a raised toilet put in.”
Mrs. Falkenstein’s house required routine maintenance, but the positive impact on her life and well-being was well worth the time and effort it took to design and install her new accessible bathroom.
